Dredge Boat
This dredge boat operated on the Chestatee River, circa 1912. These boats dredged up gold-bearing mud from the river bottom. Many of these boats were sold for scrap during World War I. The hulls of a few of these old boats may still be seen today in shallow waters. Credit: Georgia Dept.of Archives & History.
