Amethyst geode section. This specimen has pale amethyst color on one side and other is darker from what appears to be micro-crystals of either goethite or rutile crystal in and on the specimen. Size is 7.5cm (3") wide by 7.5cm (3") deep by 5cm (2") high. From Irai, Rio Grande Do Sul, Minas Gerais, Brazil. There is also a hollow cast on the underside.
