SMITHSONITE, ZnCO3 - Zinc Carbonate. Very pretty piece of Smithsonite. This specimen is 5 cm (2") wide by 4 cm (1-5/8") deep by 4 cm (1-5/8") high. Level 8, San Antonio el Grande Mine, Santa Eulalia, Chihuahua, Mexico. The Smithsonite is sitting on a thin bed of, what appears to be, orange stained micro crystals of Smithsonite.Possible greenockite inclusions has made the orange color.. No faults.
