FLUORITE, CaF2 - Calcium Fluorite. This specimen has a thick base of vuggy Sphalerite with crude crystals that is topped with a grouping of clear Fluorite spread over the surface. Some, not all, show zoning. Underneath one group of crystals are a small grouping of barite crystals (Micro). Specimen is 14 cm (5-1/2") long by 7.5 cm (7-1/2") wide by 6.3 cm (2-1/2") high. Weight 2.52 lbs. Denton Mine, Hardin Co., Cave In Rock, Illinois. There is a contact point on one crystal, see middle picture and a cleaved crystal at lower most right side in picture 3.
